Downtown restaurant and bar Roxy’s (309 Clematis St.) has announced that it will be opening its new rooftop bar Saturday, Nov. 28.

image001 The opening will coincide with Roxy’s 75th anniversary celebration; the business has already started a countdown on its Web site, and is holding a contest for the name of the rooftop bar.

“We’re the first to build a major rooftop destination in Downtown West Palm Beach, and we’re eager to unveil it,” Whitney Offield, Roxy’s marketing director, said in a statement.

The 7,500-square-foot bar, on the third floor (above Rome and the 10 @ 2 Saloon on the second floor), will feature an “island” vibe with palm trees, waterfalls, stone wall seating and wood-and stone-framed banquettes. There will be a 1,500-square-foot teak dance floor.

According to a press release:

Lunch will be served Monday through Friday and will feature a self-serve sandwich and salad bar buffet to accommodate time-sensitive downtown employees. During happy hour, guests can expect a seafood buffet, accompanied by drink and appetizer specials. For dinner, look for creative tapas including the Japanese hot rock and pita pizzas, along with upscale dishes including smoked double-cut pork chop, filet mignon and sea bass topped with jumbo lump crab. In the evening, the rooftop venue will offer packages that include limousine transportation and exclusive VIP bottle service. Sundays will feature an elaborate brunch buffet served until mid afternoon.

As for the anniversary celebration, Roxy’s will be holding a street-wide beer festival on the 300 block of Clematis Street starting at noon. Tickets are $20 (for people ages 21+ of course) and can be bought at www.309clematis.com.
